It’s Thursday afternoon and we have just arrived home from a Tachi walk. We walked to the on-lead side of the park a couple of streets over, the sun’s out and only a handful of people are out with their dogs. Tachi is doing her usual checking of emails in the grass and in the bark of the garden beds, and I’m listening to a Lorie Ladd podcast taking in the wisdom of “Opening up to the natural state of being”…
Then a couple with their Bulldog, a similar colour to Tachi, walks by not far from us and the lady speaks out loud “Oh, you are Beautiful!”. I had a smile on my face as I watched her watching Tachi :) and I said out loud back to them “Thank you! And so are you!” … my head down staring directly at their gorgeous Bulldog.
Tachi and the Bulldog had hardly exchanged a fleeting glance with each other, whereas us humans had managed to tell each other's four legged fur babies how beautiful they were. We were all smiling at each other as we kept walking, looking at our own babies and feeling the exact same way. Totally in love and grateful for the company of our animals. We all found it easier to express ourselves through the animals as their unconditional, loving state makes it so.
And it got me thinking…
Imagine if we were so freely open to telling a complete stranger how beautiful they are, or even a simple thank you to the tram driver (a lady did this the other day and I followed her lead and thanked him too while the rest of the passengers disembarked, heads down). Not just once in a while but every day.
One person’s weirdness is another person’s gratitude.
There’s never a day that goes by that I don’t tell Tachi how much I love her and how beautiful she is, it’s my natural state of being… and I believe it's a gift that is called abundance and the feeling of complete bliss. And I know some of you reading this do the same thing.
So I wanted to say to you today “Oh, you are Beautiful!” Truly. And I hope you get to share the beauty of wherever you are in your life with a complete stranger or maybe someone you know who needs to be reminded of their beauty today. Or not, maybe it's just about sitting in the thought of it.
I have The Men’s Deck sitting next to me. Its creator, Basil Eliades is a man ahead of his time. I met Basil when I was living in Daylesford and he was in the midst of crafting this deck. He says in the Little White Book (LWB) that accompanies it, that he created it as a means to start thought provoking conversations, especially with men. It definitely does that.
The two cards I pulled as I re-read what I’ve just shared with you are two major arcana, or ‘Trumps’ cards. The Chariot and The Aeon (or Judgement).
If they could speak, here's what they would like to share:
Two Trumps cards (now there's a double entendre for you :)
The Chariot (7) is when our energy is in motion. Remember when you passed your drivers licence test? It's a little bit like that. You can get in your car and take yourself wherever you choose. You think you have everything under control, and you do to a degree, but you can't control the other drivers on the road. You can be mindful of them though. When we drive through life with our full awareness at the wheel we are more capable of controlling our emotions and not spiralling out of control if someone does something crazy.
The Aeon or Judgement (20) When we point the finger of blame at someone or something, the old "three fingers are pointing back at you" scenario plays out. What critical eye are you casting on a certain person, place or thing in your life at the moment and how can you use this as the fuel to set your Chariot in motion?
As Dr John Demartini says:
"Imagine a magnet. The positive and negative pole of a magnet. The positive is something you seek, the negative is something you are trying to avoid. You're trying to get a positive without a negative. And you try to cut the magnet in half to only get the positive. When you cut the magnet in half you find out that you've still got a positive and negative, and a negative and positive to get two little magnets. So you didn't accomplish the game of getting a one sided magnet. For as long as there's atoms and molecules there, you will always have positive and negative. You will always have a balance of those two. There are always going to be positives and negatives."
So, as you set your sights on driving your life, your way, be prepared for someone to completely ignore you and also for someone to reply "Thank you! And so are you". Don't take it personally, allow your expectations to be grateful for the insight either way, to be able to receive both sides of the magnet. Because both are opportunities to break through criticism of self and others and make the world a better place. Embrace both sides of society. The world is made up of complementary opposites and we are constantly in the delusion of wanting only positives. We need the Sun and the Moon, we need to sleep and be awake. Take away the expectations of what others should do and rise above and become the seer.
I love that colour on you :)
Love, Tania x
