HAPPINESS SMILES…
Happiness smiles when I’m drawing.
Dancing pencil in hand.
Observing, contouring, detailing, shading.
Not a single word to land.
Happiness smiles when I’m solitary.
Hermetic, mindful, alone.
Four wheels, tiny, sacred space.
Freedom to roam.
Happiness smiles when I’m sharing.
With open minds, inquisitive haste.
Timelines, readings, books a gift.
Love always the eternal riff.
Happiness smiles when I’m with Tachi Girl.
12 years old, marching strong.
With sniffs and puffs and morning struts.
She celebrates life un-phased.
No news to spew or fear to ear.
Simply living life with grace.

I found this great reminder to self to share. It’s Ryan Holiday's insight on ‘The obstacle is the way’. No matter what’s happening I remember this if I find myself clinging to anything and needing it to change. Or being held back by any thing that isn’t deserving of my time. Reminder… witness it, feel into it, observe it and use it as inspiration - allowing me to create change, to be the change. Taking responsibility and making life better.
I hope that any obstacles you might be facing become the fuel you need to inspire your next moment.
The fly-screen is up to let the fresh breeze in and Tachi has curled up on her front seat with her number one fan blowing gently over her. I’m sitting in the lounge room, which is over her shoulder. I think she’s asleep but if I make a move I can see her right eye flutter open to check in.
She has taken to talking a lot more these days. Normally she would only yodel when she can’t see me, but now it’s happening when we’re together, yodelling to anyone and everyone who wants to listen. It’s cute but it makes me sad too, which helps me to never take our moments for granted. Her deafness is becoming more pronounced and she’s adapting to her new life as best as she can. I’m using sign language with her - it’s an ongoing evolution. I wonder if there’s a ‘Doglan’ out there…
Our life remains … simple. Before I even get out of bed I exercise these days. Living in such a small space I had to adapt and I found it easier to do my stretches while laying in bed. Around 6am, various leg stretches x 100 each (my toes touch my skylight above me, so it’s cosy:) and tummy, and then I reach up to the little bookshelf off to my left and find my rubber band exercise thingy and work my arms. Job done.
Around 6.30am, make the bed (that’s exercise in itself :) then I slide down into the kitchen and put the kettle on, make a cuppa while signing good morning to Tachi and giving her some reiki and cuddles. She signs back ‘I love you!’ and then goes back to sleep.
Before I allow any unnecessary thoughts to enter, I start talking out loud about how great this moment is, and how we’re going to visit a new place, listen to Shine and James (my guides) and thank them for their messages, learn something that we didn’t know yesterday and see something that takes our breath away. We’ll stay curious and see the beauty in the ordinary and not so ordinary. And look forward to who we’re reading for today. It’s like my filling my fuel tank for the day. Tachi fills her tank with food in her belly :)
I have normal things to do … tax being a decent sized one after selling my home …capital gains... I’ve done my best to get 21 years of paperwork to them! My tax spreadsheet for 2024/25 has been stripped back so much not having a house/s, it’s hard to believe this is my life now - trusting myself and listening to my guides. Simple living. I keep looking for more things that I can delete, and spend/give more to the things that I love.
I used to have so many website add ons for the course etc and I had no idea how to use them - so they have gone too. So you can now access the beginner tarot course on Youtube for gratis. I just want it out in the world, and that makes me happy.
Nelly, our van is travelling along nicely, with only minor needs. We sleep/live in the van always and are doing day trips (gosh I love Mudgeeraba, Qld) and being here for Aunty Earlene while she navigates her health and the health system - It’s so nice to spend time together. Aunty Earlene has become a poet herself with our poetry challenge :)
Have you noticed something interesting about the weather (apart from the obvious)? The forecasts are so hit and miss! I’m reading The Secret World of Weather by Tristan Gooley and he writes that it’s because they predict over such a huge amount of land (he explains it in much more depth than that). Even here in sunny Queensland they have warned of severe winds, then rain… but nothing, or very light. Surely it’s happening somewhere… If you don’t listen to it or don’t know about it, does it mean we create our own weather system? I believe we do. We are all microclimates. We are all micro-Universes.
I remember when I moved to King Island (2004), my first day there. I was waiting out the front of the bakery and I was listening to a wave of young surfers chatting about the weather. The direction the wind was blowing, the height of the currents (?), things I didn’t even understand and they were only about 12yo! They knew exactly which beach to go and surf and not a phone or app in sight. That was one of the first of many things I loved about Island living. The good old days…
I remember in Melbourne the forecasters would say ‘Today is going to be a top 20 degrees”. But forget to mention that it would only be that for 5 minutes at 3pm, the rest of the day would be 13-15. There’s a certain expectation (if you allow it), only to be disappointed, and to realise you are better off not listening to it at all.
Rather, I say, take yourself outside and feel into the sun, wind, breeze or the stillness, and make the most of what you manifest in that space (like those kids do). The weather that You actually experience is way more important than something you hear on the news or on your phone. Yes, the weather report is happening somewhere but more importantly, it’s your energy that is creating the life you experience, every thought from the past is creating your future, not an app or the news (or maybe it is for some). Your awareness creates patterns that influence those around you too and this affects the entire planet.
So being mindful of what you fuel yourself with is sacred. The more distance you create from needing to know answers, the more you open your intuition to hearing your guides speak, you hear your intuition guide you. And that’s when life becomes so easy to love.
I know for farmers/graziers (thinking of you S) that it’s not as simple as this at times... I salute you and what you have been and are experiencing at the time with extreme weather conditions. And I know that your inner nature is your strength x

I am loving The Mindful Narrowboat with Vanessa. I’ve listened to all her Vlogs, they are so welcoming, reflective and truly mindful. I feel like I’m travelling along in Narrowboat ‘Alice Grace’ along with Zepher dog, in the canals of the UK. I just love them!
And through Vanessa I discovered Nighttime on Still Waters, another Narrowboat named ‘Erica’. I listen to Richard’s gentle tones before I go to sleep… so calming and melodic to connect to.
They both help me take more time to appreciate nature and be inspired by the amazing planet we live on. To connect more to it, respect it, love it. Be in it.
Thank you all for being here x

I always listen to the birds if I want to know what the weather is doing. Their behaviour is very telling.
In Singapore just before the rain the leaves on the trees shake. It is caused by a wind called a Sumatra. Of course it could be the trees are just letting each other know it is about to rain ……
