A Daily Devotion
Returning to What Matters.
A long, long time ago, I received an attunement. An attunement is not something that is taken or achieved; it is something that is received and then lived with. Over time, it becomes less an event and more a way of being in the world.
For me, this was a Reiki / Seichim attunement. The notes from that day on the 19th December, 1998, from Julie Biro still travel with me, not as instructions, but as a reminder of a beginning. The symbols, the words, the quality of attention they point to—these things don’t fade when they are practiced gently. They settle.
This year, my focus is on Devotion: not returning to the past, but remembering how presence was first learned, and how it is carried forward. Energy that is lived does not need to be announced or shouted to the world. It moves through care, listening, and quiet consistency. I am grateful to have friendships who reflect this back to me.
When people come for readings, nothing needs to be added or declared. What has been tended over time is already here. It meets each person where they are, safely and naturally, without force. In this way, what is received is not something new, but something familiar—love, offered without demand.
THE PHILOSOPHY OF SEICHIM
I accept I am a spiritual being and I am where I am where I need to be now.
My spiritual growth and learning is my responsibility and I accept the challenge to see and discover myself through knowledge, universal wisdom and love.
Within me is the vast wealth and prosperity of the Universe. I am one with the Universal mind and my higher self, God/Goddess and ALL THAT IS.
There are no rights, wrongs, mistakes, only lessons and teachings. It is not my place to judge myself or others.
I give daily thanks for the prosperity and abundance in my life. I deserve the best and I AM willing to accept and receive it NOW.
I recognise “TRUTH” when I see, hear, or touch it, and I live by this Universal Truth.
I AM one with the Divine thought processes within me and I AM open to receive creative thoughts and ideas, NOW.
I give reverent thanks for the privilege of receiving Seichim “THE POWER OF POWERS” and I pledge to use it always for my own highest good and the highest good of all.
LOVE HEALS ALL. I AM LOVE.
THIS YEAR
Devotion, for me, it’s showing up in unexpected places—especially in how I’m learning Italian. School was never a natural fit for me; learning through pressure or performance didn’t work. But tarot did. I learned it slowly, through repetition, curiosity, and relationship and my deck travelled with me everywhere. Over time, it became something I didn’t have to think about—I could simply listen. It was and still is, a beautiful relationship.
I’m noticing the same pattern now. Devotion isn’t about doing something perfectly or consistently. It’s about returning. Returning to a practice, a language, a way of listening—returning without judgment. Tarot taught me that connection deepens when it’s lived, not forced. Italian is reminding me of the same thing. And spirit, too, moves this way: quietly, patiently, through attention rather than effort.
Whatever your word or practice is this year, perhaps devotion isn’t about adding more—but about staying with what already matters, and letting it meet you where you are.
Sometimes, we don’t really change, we simply become the person we truly are.
Thank you for being here.
Piano, piano, (slowly, slowly)
